LAILO FARM SANCTUARY

Moon and her best friend Star were both used as dairy goats at a small hobby farm and their babies were taken away from them after a couple of days. Only when they came to LAILO, months later, were they reunited. Moon, along with Star and their babies were going to be euthanized because Moon tested positive for goat virus called CAE. Though CAE can cause arthritis, pneumonia, chronic mastitis and weight loss, many goats can live long and happy lives with the virus. Some, including Moon, remain asymptomatic. When Moon arrived here she was quite wary of people but she has slowly learned to trust and now loves attention. She is the top goat in her herd and she always makes sure she gets the first treat! Moon is mother to Socks and Raury.
