Piper was adopted at 10 weeks old but she managed to escape from her new owner. She was running at large in a residential neighbourhood for seven weeks before she was finally caught. She became wary of people because so many of them chased her when trying to catch her, but she also learned that they had food, so eventually she was lured into a trap by food. Piper arrived here terrified of people. She has become much more comfortable around us and now lets us pat her and she'll roll over for a belly rub. She takes a while to relax with new people and any sudden sounds or movements startle her. We are certain that she will become more trusting in time.
