Gertie is the newest addition to the sanctuary, arriving in early October 2022. We welcomed this lovely turkey right before Thanksgiving when some kind hearted supporters rescued her from her fate as someone’s dinner. Gertie is affectionate, talkative and curious. She spends her days exploring the property with the chickens and searching for food. She loves to follow people around and is so comfortable with humans that she will even climb into our laps for a little nap. She has settled in very nicely and already has a lot of fans.
